“Music, uniquely among the arts, is both completely abstract and profoundly emotional. It has no power to represent anything particular or external, but it  has a unique power to express inner states or feelings. Music can pierce the  heart directly; it needs no mediation.”
― Oliver Sacks, Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain

As a Solo Artist

I have been a performing artist  since my teens.  However, the last fifteen years have been my most productive and memorable!  I started out performing  in local coffee houses and Farmer's Markets, then expanded my playing to private parties, bars, rastaurants, and  wineries.
My solo repertoire is electic: songs selected from american standards, oldies, folk, rock, and contemporary pop.  My songlists are carefully crafted to appeal a variety of audiences, including families, mature music lovers, and young adults.

Toby Mochel and A Few Good Men

Two years ago, I set a goal for myself to play the Summer Concert circuit in Soutjeastern Pennsylvania.  I started looking for some like-minded, seasoned musicians to form a backing band for these larger venues.
I got ecxtremely lucky!  I was soon joined by:
Scott Banister on lead guitar, harmonica, and vocals
Ric Lake on bass and vocals
Mike McCafferty on drums and cajon
Collectively, they are A FEW GOOD MEN!
